NEWS & EVENTS

I'm a pretty busy monkey.  It keeps the creative juices flowing.  So here on this page, I'll let you know where I am and what I'm doing.  If you want to see me, just send a message and I'll let you know when I'll be in your area.  Thanks to my fans and enjoy the stories!

August 2:  In Columbus

I think this may be the place.  I came here to visit a friend who lives in the area.  Found a newspaper article dated November 24, 2010.  Lancaster is a small town not far from where I'm at.  I'm interested in the author Horace Green.  Maybe I can convince him to talk to me.  If I take this story on it would be a stand alone.  I'm a bit nervous but excited too.  Now I just need to convince my publishing house, editor and agent.  Here we go again...

July 18:  San Diego Comic Con...

This is the first year I've gotten a comp badge and an all access pass for the San Diego Comic Con and I'm so excited.  First night here and I met Micheal Sheen!  Had a hard time hiding my fangirl squee.  The cosplay is blowing my mind and my favorite so far is this gorgeous woman dressed as Wonder Woman.  Does my heart good that even without a movie she's still so strongly represented here.  I'm hoping to sit in on some other panels.  I really want to see what's up with "True Blood" and "Game of Thrones".

July 1:  It's HERE!...

The third installment of Ghost Lament is on bookshelves as of today!  If you jump on Amazon.com between now and the 8th you can get a 20% discount.  Oh and it's available on Kindle too.  I'm working on putting together a collection of my short stories for the Kindle as well.  Of course it's all a matter of picking the ones that people like.  If you have an opinion about it let me know.

March 19:  GoT Season 3 premiere!

I love my agent!  She got me invited to the "Game of Thrones" 3rd season premiere.  I can't believe I actually got to meet Tyrion Lannister.  Peter Dinnklage is so nice and such a gentleman with a wicked sense of humor.  The show really brings what Martin has written to life.  I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see what the Khalessi, Tyrion and Arya will do.  I am such a geek!

Feb. 2:  Time for a new location...

The final draft of my third book is at the publisher's and hopefully from there to the printers.  I was going to take a rest but I'm already looking into locations for my fourth book.  I've been sticking to the East Coast for the settings and I was thinking about heading out west.  Should I head to Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, or how about Texas?  I think I'm going to head home to Asheville and do some research.  Wish me luck.

April 16:  Injustice:  Gods Among Us

I was smart and preordered it.  Thank goodness!  I was salivating before I even got it out of the box.  I've spent all day playing and if my agent sees this post, she's going to kill me since I'm suppose to be doing research.  I can't decide who I love more--Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn or the Joker.  SO MUCH FUN!

August 7:  In the works...

The talk with my agent went well--sort of.  Since I'm still not sure about this whole Green/Lancaster thing, she has suggested I keep working on the next book my publishers are expecting. I have agreed for now.  I've moved myself to Hocking Hills since I've found some nice places to stay.  There are some very friendly people in the Lancaster area although they were unable to help me find the friend I was hoping to see.  Not much excitement yet but I'll keep you all posted.

September 11:  So much but not enough

I've got writer's block again.  This has happened before and will again I'm sure.  In the meantime, I am still gathering information and figuring out if this is the spot I need to be.

I keep seeing commercials for the third season of "American Horror Story".  There had been a time when I could have been part of the writing staff  but decided not to take the offer.  Was I fool to pass it up?

Feb. 2:  Back.

I hope you will forgive me for not posting or blogging or even twitting for so long a time.  There has been family issues of a private nature that I have been handling.  Thankfully all is well and I am out exploring again.  It seems I have been renewed.  I found this wonderful private museum with a hodgepodge of items.  There are stories there and ghosts I think.  Now it's time to sit in front of a keyboard and start something new.  I'm currently looking for a place and staying in hotels in the Lancaster/Columbus area for the moment.  Wish me luck gang!

May 26:  Memorial Day Weekend

What a wild weekend!  Went out East to visit a good friend with another good friend and made more friends!  I went camping, got sunburnt, spent WAY too much money (my accountant is gonna kill me but I did remember receipts this time) and ate me some good cookin'.    I hope you all will check back in the next few weeks for some exciting announcements.  I may have a few release dates for you my wonderful fans and readers.  I hope you all had a blast and remembered our troops past and present while you were at it.  Til later...  Valar morghulis

April 6:  Game of Thrones

Am I the only one excited for the Season 4 premiere tonight?  I wonder how this wedding will go?

May 27:  Must be Tuesday....

Almost done with the rewrites for the next book and the short story collection.  How exciting is that?  Taking a moment to look at Skottie Young's website.  One of my favorites. Enjoy!

June 28:

An offer was made by my publishing house and after some debate, I've agreed to start a second series.  The first story is a short one in my new collection.  The next story will be a full length novel to be released next year!  Of course I'm not done with Chase.  There's more to come from her and the ghosts.  I'll let you know shortly when the fifth Ghost Lament novel will be out... until then let's just hope the fourth Lament book and my short stories sell...

July 25-27:  SDCC!

I can't even begin to discribe how awesome it was this year.  I had so much fun with all the panels and meeting all the people!  I finally got to meet and shakes hands with Jim Butcher, Rachel Caine and Marie Lu who were on a panel together.  Loved the Sons of Anarchy panel and I can't wait for the new American Horror Story season... Circus time.  Gal Godot as Wonder Woman?  Yes Please!  I even did the whole cosplay thing-went as Lara Croft on Saturday.  I had someone special to share everything with which made everything that much more enjoyable.  I hope I get to present one of these days...

July 31:  Star Lord lead us there...

Can you guess where I'm going to be at midnight tonight?

August 10:

Some days you just need to smile.  Here's the famous clip of a dancing baby Groot from "Guardians of the Galaxy".

September 7:

I'll be getting my Blu Ray copy tomorrow from Amazon.com.  I missed "Captain America: Winter Soldier" while it was in theater so I've got some making up to do.  Now I can catch up on "Agents of Shield" too.
June 5: "I'm here bitches!"

I hope you will forgive my lack of communication over the last several months.  I have been working on two books--the first in my new series and the next in The Ghost Lament series.  I've also moved back to the East Coast and my view is of the Atlantic.  It's a wonderful view and feels like home.  This place has inspired me a great deal but I've missed getting out and meeting my fans.  So I've talked with my publishing house and my agent and there will be a book tour for The Color of Blood and Ash!

The thing is though that I have no name for this new series which will have a total of four books.  I have come to you my fans for help with that.  Starting July 1st you will be able to either email me, tweet me or send me an IM on Facebook and give me a name.  You can enter up to five different names and you have until July 30th to do so.

From the entries I will choose a winner (if more than one person sends in the same name, the first one by time stamp will be the winner) and that special person will receive an all expenses paid trip to Seattle, the last stop on the tour, to meet up with me and spend a lovely weekend soaking up the sites and having fun.

The tour starts July 7th in Asheville of course and will hit a total of twelve different cities.  I hope you all will come out and listen to me read from the new book and meet me.  I can't wait to hear your opinions!

P.S. I promise I'll have inforrmation about the new Chase book in the next couple weeks too!  This summer is going to be a hot one!

August 15: Relaxing in Seattle

The tour is finally over and it was a blast!  I so enjoyed getting to know so many of my fans.  Who knew there were so many of you?  A very special thank you to Larry Jameson the winner of naming my new series.  From now on it will be called Feathers of a Different Meaning.

I'll be in the Seattle area for a little while longer then head home for the East Coast in a couple weeks to start on my next story.  Thank you so much again for all your well wishes and support for my novels.

December 23:  Christmas Traditions

"Dirty Rotten Scoundrels"--one of my favorite movies to watch during the winter time.  I adore this movie.  There's something about the way these two actors interact that I love.  I highly recommend it any time of the year!

Feb 29:  BvS

The end of March can't get here soon enough for me!  I need some Wonder Woman even if I have to put up with Batman and Superman to get it.

March 22: Haircut

So my hair has gotten quite long recently.  I'm thinking about cutting it bit I would like your opinion.  Should I cut it off?

May 8:
Game of Thrones and Penny Dreadful all in one evening...
This is the second episode for both and I can't believe what they've shown us so far...
                                    And I cut my hair!
